Synopsis[]
In the Season One finale, the Peaches season comes to an emotional conclusion, while Carson and Greta struggle with what’s next. Max reckons with an old chapter before opening a new one.
Plot Summary[]
The Rockford Peaches have to win their next game but they start losing. Greta tells Carson she’s not the same with Charlie there so she asks him to leave. Charlie agrees to go home to Idaho, although hurt by her request. They will see each other in a week after the season ends.
Carson gives the team a pep talk. She talks to Shirley about her remark the other day and tells her she doesn’t care who she tells. The Peaches end up winning the next two games and they are thrilled.
Max brings Clance to dinner at her parent’s house. Her dad seems thrilled about Max’s new position on the All-Stars. Max’s mom doesn’t love her new shorter haircut. Toni talks to Max in private about how single women, especially ones that look more like men, have a much harder time and even put themselves in danger in a place like Rockford.
Max goes to see Bertie before she leaves with the baseball team on a road trip to Minnesota. Bertie gives her advice on where she can go in Iowa to be safe. Bertie stops by Max’s parents house to see his sister, who is furious with him for leaving her at home alone to take care of things.
The Rockford Peaches face the Blue Sox in the final championship game. The Peaches are down in the ninth inning. They make a comeback and end up winning the championship.
Beverly gives Jess back the money that she collected from her for wearing pants throughout the season. Greta asks Carson to go with her to New York. Carson says she won’t go to New York but gives her one final kiss. She tells her she isn’t going back to Charlie either. She thanks Greta for changing her life and tells her goodbye. Charlie was standing nearby and happened to see the whole thing.
